THE WIDOWS' FARM
The Widows' Farm covers an area of almost 6 acres. Since the purchase in 2009, continual development has enabled the farm to be productive enough to regularly feed destitute widows whose names are on the widows' list.
We grow a variety of crops, including maize, rice, vegetables and bananas, plus some other fruits such as mangoes and guavas in season. We have dug a well and erected a water tower; these provide irrigation for the large vegetable area.
All produce is dedicated to the widows except for a minor percentage of vegetables, which are sold to generate a fund for medical needs of the widows.
Jeremy has developed a chicken project, which enables us to give eggs, and chickens to the widows.
The farm operates almost exclusively through regular donations from supporters.
